Occupational Safety and Health

An OS&H officer has just arrived in your office.
Do you have the required OS&H policy
in place with all related reporting and recording processes?
Legislation is there to catch out the unwary. Be sure you are not one of them. As with anything relating to government legislation and business, the penalties are severe.
The aim of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1984 is to promote and improve standards of occupational safety and health at work. All provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 and Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 are important in regard to requirements for compliance.
With 20 new inspectors being appointed over the next few years, enforcement of the Act and Regulation is a reality. Any enforcement action which is warranted will depend on the circumstances of the case, in particular the seriousness of the breach as reflected by the penalties Parliament has provided. These range from as little as $5,000 to in excess of $200,000.
To understand the Act and the Regulation is difficult but to actually comply with the basic requirements is not.
With the co-operation of Worksafe WA, Expro Marketing has produced a Small Business Package to assist small businesses to comply and have the basic policies and procedures in place.
Did you know that under the Occupational Safety and Health Act there is no need for an injury to occur before enforcement action can be taken?
Be aware that
Expro Marketing can prepare a full action plan and implementation plan. Your OS&H can be devised and put in place - a role Expro Marketing fulfill by supporting existing management through Interim Executive Management to Project Manage the program.
